Relationship Between CAMLPR and Provincial Regulators

CAMLPR and provincial regulators have distinct but complementary roles in the registration process.

The provincial regulator:

  • Determines eligibility for registration
  • Establishes registration requirements
  • Issues certificates of practice
  • Makes all final registration decisions

Applicants may be required to complete both CAMLPR assessments and province-specific requirements as part of the registration process.

How the Process Generally Works

While pathways vary by applicant and jurisdiction, the process typically includes:

  1. Completing required assessments or exams through CAMLPR (if applicable)
  2. Meeting any additional learning or assessment requirements
  3. Applying to the provincial regulator for registration
  4. Satisfying province-specific registration requirements

Applicants should consult both CAMLPR and the provincial regulator for accurate, up-to-date information.
