Dear Medical Laboratory Professional,
The College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTM) would like to welcome you to the transition to regulation email list! We will provide periodic updates on the regulation process as they arise.
CMLTM would also like input from the Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) and Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist (CLXT) communities. The CMLTM regulates Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) and we are familiar with MLT values and current professional concerns. However, MLA and CLXT values and concerns must come directly from you! For this reason, we will be hosting townhall events, virtual chats, and forming an ad hoc-advisory committee consisting of MLAs and CLXTs.

Townhalls, virtual chats, and committee meetings will be posted on our website, social media accounts, and announced through our email list.
Since sending out the initial letter in April 2026 regarding the future of Regulation of MLAs and CLXTs in Manitoba, the most common question I have received from MLAs and CLXTs is, “how can I be prepared for the future of my career?” We are early in the process so the best thing to do is stay up to date with the news through our communication channels.
